It appears, as was likely the case, that Brooklyn's head is filling in with fluid and so Jenny called in to Primary Children's and she has an appointment set for Monday. At that point the neurosurgeon (a different one than the one we have had so far) will potentially order more MRI results and even possibly schedule a surgery for Tuesday or sometime that week. My understanding is that Jenny is meeting with the neurosurgeon who performs the procedure that is an alternative to shunts. I guess there is still a chance that they could let Brooklyn continue to wait to fill in the head more, even if it is with fluid, but we'll be trusting of the individuals who have dedicated their lives to matters such as these. We'll also have a chance to fast this weekend for a successful result to Brooklyn's next treatment. Everything helps!
Here is an updated picture:
I should mention what a nice week it has been to have our family together. Normal life is settling, particularly over time. It's fun to have all the kids in school, see them all when I get home, get back in a routine of running to different activities, and to just have time together. I think it has also been nice for Brooklyn not to be constantly monitored and to go a week without being poked and prodded. She has been wonderful and we are grateful for her strength.
Looking forward to hearing the results of today's visit. Thanks for all the updates.
