A PICC line and a calm night

Brooklyn had a great night, sleeping well and overall seems to be doing fine.  She has had a healthy appetite and appears to be growing. One of the nurses told me this morning that babies hit a growth spurt around 6 weeks.

After receiving multiple IVs during this current stay, it became necessary to give Brooklyn a PICC line (sounds like "pick" line).  This caused us some concern, but we got some comfort talking to our sister-in-law who is a nurse.  Basically, this is a line that runs from her arm right to the top of her heart that makes it so they can administer various fluids and it can last much longer than the IVs have been able to last.  Here is a quick link if you are interested in learning more about PICC lines: http://picclinenursing.com/picc_why.html

Jenny has missed the other kids so much and it was nice to have our whole family together yesterday.  It was also great to have my parents arrive from Washington (they are moving down to the Salt Lake City area) and it will be nice to have them in town whenever we need to visit Primary Children's in the future.  Grandma Young has also been so sweet to spend the past week with us and we appreciate her continued sacrifice on our behalf.  She makes such a difference in the day-to-day operations in our home.

Here are some pictures of our sweet Brooklyn:
