Nighttime Progress

We just got back from Brooklyn's 2 am awakening.  It's fun to say "we" as Jenny was able to arrive in a wheelchair and hold our little girl.  Jenny first held her yesterday and it was so fun to see Brooklyn stare up at her mommy this morning (she has also taken a pacifier, which is adorable).

The nurse and others have commented on what a sweet disposition Brooklyn has.  She has cried for short moments on occasion but she is generally calm.  We've been so happy to see her look around and she appears to be attentive, including possibly responding to new voices.  I am just amazed how comfortable she feels and we'll just chalk that up to another blessing.

Brooklyn's breathing has continued to improve and so we were happy to see they took her off of her breathing support - here is a picture of her brief "no tubes" moment.

This didn't last long as the nurse felt it was best to put a tube into her stomach to clean out some air and extra fluid and this tube appeared to work well.  Tubes or not, we are so happy for her progress.

  1. She is a beautiful little girl. Her color is great, and I love those bright eyes. She is loved fully already and we can't wait to meet our newest, precious little Granddaughter. Chad & Jenny, we hope you can get the rest you need as you give her the care and loving guidance she will receive from you. Love, Mom
