A concern resolved

Yesterday there was a concern that Brooklyn's shunt was work "too well" for lack of a better term.  In short there was some indication that the fluid was draining quickly, and if it drains too quickly we think that could lead to problems.  So last night we were a bit uneasy.  However, it turns out that with her being upright in her car seat (she had to show she could hold her temperature), the fluid drained faster.  As a result, we have to keep her on her back more between feedings and other activities.  The neurologist came by today and said she looks good and we'll follow up with him again in several weeks.

Other than that concern, Brooklyn has been what her nurse termed "A Rock Star" of a patient.  She has been eating and breathing so well and has been able to maintain her temperature without the help of a heating lamp (by the way, this was the 3rd factor I forgot to mention that affects when they release her).  Top all that off with her perfect demeanor and she is just amazing.  I had the opportunity to interact with her a bit yesterday and she was so cute.  It is so nice to see her alert and interactive.

Fingers crossed as we are expecting her to come home today!  I'll be sure to post pictures of her encounters with siblings.  They are so excited to meet her and we cannot wait to welcome her home!
