Afternoon Update

We've had a great day with Brooklyn.  Both Jenny and I were able to hold her for extended periods of time.  I have not been overly anxious to hold her - I was fine to let her sleep and hold her hand while Jenny had the opportunities to hold her.  But it was so fun to hold Brooklyn for the first time and she was just so peaceful and adorable while I stared at her.  What a perfect little girl we have been blessed with!

Brooklyn also had her tube to her stomach removed as the nurses felt she was ready to be tube free.  We also benefited from Alison's and Barbie's company, both helping with Jenny and for time with the baby.  Thanks to both of them for their time!

The next step is to transport Brooklyn to Primary Children's for her MRI at 3:30 pm.  Someone will actually transport her at 3 pm using a mobile cart that I've been told will be enclosed.  Fortunately there is a bridge connecting the hospital we are currently in (U of U) to Primary Children's (PC) so Brooklyn won't have to endure any cold.  We are not sure when we will hear the results of the MRI, but I believe her surgery, assuming it is necessary, will take place tomorrow, no matter which treatment the team at Primary Children's deems best.

I should mention Jenny is doing well.  She has always been amazing with her recoveries and is up and about today.  The medicine on day 1 made her a bit dizzy and she is still obviously sore, but she is doing pretty well and is able to walk short distances (including from the NICU to her room).  We'll be sure to have her in a wheelchair for the walk to PC, which may be about 15 minutes.
