Brooklyn had a quick MRI today and it looks as though the pocket of fluid on to the side of her brain has decreased. Her surgeon seemed very encouraged and now he has turned on the other drain (the one inside her brain) so that both external drains are now "turned on." If all goes well, he'll decrease the pressure (to increase the flow) on the "inside the brain" drain and increase the pressure (to decrease the flow) on the one to the side of her head (as there is not expected to be as much fluid there moving forward).
He also mentioned the possibility of her next intervention (shunt or otherwise) possibly taking place in about a week. After that she would be here for a couple of more days. So, we are grateful for this news and will keep you posted on the timeline.
Our family was also blessed to have visitors today. My brother Brian came by and got to feed and hold Brooklyn - he did awesome! Jenny's brother Mike and family also came by and Aunt Alison held Brooklyn as much as anyone today.
Lots of love for baby Brooklyn!
