Update after Dr. Visit

I apologize that I did not post about Brooklyn's visit to the neurosurgeon sooner!

We had a good visit with the neurosurgeon on Wednesday.  He was able to answer our questions and pulled up some of the results from her May CT scan.  He compared those scan results with an earlier version, and it was nice to see some growth in the brain tissue.  Her ventricles are still large, but he was willing to say that the progress is encouraging, which I was glad to hear.

He also indicated that the shunt appears to be continuing to work well and was able to ease some of our concerns about different issues we have encountered.  At this point, the plan is to come back and see him in six months so long as there are not any issues that arise.

I should also mention what a wonderful spirit I felt during this past visit.  It was a peaceful and wonderful spirit and reiterates again the wonderful work that goes on at Primary Children's Medical Center. We are so thankful for the doctors and others who care for these precious children.

We feel so grateful that our visit was positive and that Brooklyn is happy.  She continues to grow and show signs of progress in different areas.  One of the more exciting accomplishments is that she is now grabbing her toes.  Collin took this picture for us:

One of the bonuses of our visit was that Brooklyn's siblings had the chance to meet a Gold Medalist from the Sochi games.  Sage Kotsenburg was at PCMC taking pictures, handing out gear, and signing autographs. He was very pleasant and the kids love the hats they received when they met him.  Here is a picture from the trip:
