Enjoying home time

We have been enjoying Brooklyn here at home over the past couple of days.  After her second surgery this week to fix the abdominal portion of the shunt system, she responded well enough that she was released on Thursday.  Jenny came home with her, which allowed Grandma Young to get back to Rexburg.  We so appreciate all of Grandma Young's selflessness during our time of need and we continue to be served by so many thoughtful neighbors in a variety of ways.

Brooklyn's new shunt appears to be doing well.  Her head size appears to be a healthy size (smaller than before surgery, but not so small that we would be alarmed the shunt is working "too well").  She is eating well and has a pretty regular nighttime routine of sleeping a few hours, eating, then going back to sleep.  Her scars appear to be holding up well and healing well.  Overall, her physical condition appears promising and time will tell what her mental and physical challenges will be.  We're searching for smiles at this point and we think we've seen one or two so far.
