Brooklyn had an MRI today and they have decided to have her come home. In the end they do not believe there is a high risk of infection and so there is not a need to hold her for antibiotics. Also, they believe by adjusting the shunt that the pressure will begin to release. So, they "dialed down" the shunt from a setting of 110 to 80 (as I understand them, lower numbers mean a lower pressure threshold to hit for the shunt to release fluid from the brain). Brooklyn also had an X-ray and she and Jenny should be on the road home soon. We are so glad that they did not have to be at the hospital for some time. This was exciting news given that even while Jenny was traveling down to SLC, they had told Jenny she would likely be there for a little while.
Here's our little trooper...
